These are not the coarse, scratchy imported llama yarns you may have seen in yarn shops. In South America llama and alpaca are labeled not by the critter it came from but by the quality of the fiber. High quality, soft fibers are labeled as alpaca even if it came from a llama and low quality, scratchy fiber with guard hair is labeled as llama even if it came from an alpaca. By definition, those yarn shop llama yarns are low quality. Let me prove the quality of my yarns. I'll send you a sample of any yarn you are interested in buying at no charge.

My handspun 100% llama yarn is priced at $6.00 per ounce for natural colors, $6.50 for dyed colors, including shipping within the continental United States. Minimum order is two ounces. The total amount on hand is listed for each offering.

Usually I have more raw fiber of every color on hand that can be spun to suit your project at no extra charge. I can create most any color for you for no additional charge. Time to completion varies with my order backlog. Talk to me, we'll work it out to your satisfaction.

When ordering more than one ounce, your yarn will normally be shipped in skeins of 4 to 5 ounces each - the capacity of my spinning wheel's bobbins. And never a knot! If you would prefer center-pull balls, just ask.

I've listed both the approximate number of wraps per inch and the aproximate number of yards per ounce to help you understand the style of each yarn. You will notice that the two measurements do not always correlate to those of another yarn. That is because fleece characteristics vary, just like the hair on your head is different from other's.
